ITAC attended World Travel Market (WTM) in London, England this week. This travel trade event is the largest one on UK soil. It facilitates $4.45 billion in industry deals, has more than 5000 exhibitors from 182 countries and regions, and more than 51,000 participants. This is the place to be when you want to work with the UK which is the second largest market into Canada.

Other than the 30+ meetings that our Sales and Marketing Manager Sébastien Desnoyers-Picard did, we also had many discussions with industry leaders, media and partners such as Destination Canada and different Provincial/Territorial marketing organizations to discuss how to closely work together in promoting indigenous experiences across Canada in the next years. We’re also glad that Indigenous business owner Mike Willie from Sea Wolf Adventures attended as a seller to
this event and participated in some meetings with us. This show is certainly very helpful with the number of leads we generate but it’s also very resourceful with all the different presentations, networking events and tools offered.

Overall, our marketing team was pleased with the final results and we can positively say that 2019 should be a great year for our members as Canada is expecting increased arrivals from that market as well as many media coverage which will be beneficial for our industry.

This was brought together as another one of many ways our MOU partnership with Destination Canada benefits members.
