ITAC is the lead organization tasked with growing and promoting the Indigenous tourism industry across the country. Inspired by a vision for a thriving Indigenous tourism economy sharing authentic, memorable and enriching experiences, ITAC develops relationships with groups and regions with similar mandates to enable collective support, product development, promotion and marketing of authentic Indigenous tourism businesses in a respectful protocol.

Indigenous communities have shared their culture with visitors to their traditional territories since time immemorial, closely guided by community values of respect, honour and integrity. Those same values are the sustainable building blocks for quality Indigenous cultural tourism experiences both now, and for generations to come.

ITAC’s Media Relations Program

ITAC works with regional Indigenous tourism associations; provincial, territorial and national tourism partners; and destinations marketing organizations across Canada to support media visits to its hundreds of authentic and transformative Indigenous tourism experiences.
