Treaty 6 Territory, home to many Nations including, Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Sioux and Métis People (Amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton, AB) – The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors at ITAC’s 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held in person on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
ITAC successfully delivered its AGM in person, and the agenda included remarks from the board chair and vice chair and operational highlights from ITAC.
“ITAC remains the national voice for Indigenous tourism in Canada, providing Indigenous-led solutions to continue the sector’s recovery. As of March 2025, we have seen a 3% membership growth, and proudly supported 1,300+ members and 1,900 Indigenous-owned tourism businesses,” shares Keith Henry, President and CEO of ITAC. “In the face of national economic and political uncertainties, our strategy remains on advancing Vision 2030, positioning Canada as the world leader in Indigenous tourism.”
“It’s an honour to stand alongside many dedicated Indigenous-owned and controlled member businesses working to create a brighter future for Indigenous tourism in Canada,” says Marilyn Jensen, Chair representing Yukon. “Together, we show that Indigenous tourism is economic reconciliation in action.”
Farewell to Outgoing Board Member
Marlene Joudry, who represented Nova Scotia, has served on the ITAC board for one term, totaling 4 years. ITAC’s Board of Directors expresses its appreciation for Joudry’s contributions during her term.
