The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) is working in Alberta to create a provincial Aboriginal tourism organization lead by the Indigenous community. Tourism is an $8.3B industry in Alberta and creates more than 127,000 jobs in the province. ITAC will be hosting community forums across Alberta in May and June, 2017 to discuss creating Alberta Aboriginal tourism opportunities.

The Alberta Aboriginal tourism forums will address how  businesses and community can overcome the challenges and barriers for Aboriginal peoples entering the tourism industry.

  • See how you can help to create tourism economic opportunities, and get your community involved in this initial planning stage.
  • Hear how ITAC is working across Canada to develop the Indigenous tourism industry.
  • Meet Indigenous Albertan tourism entrepreneurs who are working in the tourism industry now.

Who should attend: anyone interested in learning about tourism opportunities, tourism business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders, economic development officers, Elders, Youth, and all!
