The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) issued a Call for Nominations to member organizations wishing to represent their province or territory on ITAC’s Board of Directors. This notice was to provide information on how to nominate a Director (board member) for election at the upcoming ITAC Annual General Meeting (AGM) being held December 14th, 2023, at Dakota Dunes Resort in Whitecap, SK.
The ITAC Board is composed of thirteen (13) Directors; one from each of the ten (10) provinces and one from each of the three (3) territories, each serving four (4) year terms.
The following Director positions that were open for nominations:
- Alberta
- British Columbia
- New Brunswick
- Saskatchewan
- Northwest Territories
The following Director positions were acclaimed:
- Alberta
- New Brunswick
- Northwest Territories
The following Director positions will go to election:
- British Columbia
- Saskatchewan
The nominees by province are:
British Columbia:
- Frank Brown – SeeQuest
- Sharon Bond – Kekuli Cafe
- Greg Hopf – Moccasin Trails
Saskatchewan:
- Kelly Fiddler – Mosquito Economic Development Corp + Indigenous Destinations Saskatchewan (ISDK)
- Chris Standing – Dakota Dunes Resort
Directors will be elected by eligible Voting Members only within their respective territory or province (ITAC Bylaws 13.6),and done so through Election Buddy online Voting.
The Online voting for Board of Directors will be live Friday, December 1, 2023. 12:00 PM PST, and will end on Friday, December 8, 2023, 5:00PM PST.
The results of this election will be announced at the ITAC AGM on December 14, 2023 at Dakota Dunes Resort, in Whitecap, SK.
