Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Vancouver, BC The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) is excited to announce Tamara Littlelight as its new Director of Marketing, effective April 3, 2023.

Tamara has added exceptional expertise to ITAC’s Marketing team in which she held the role of ITAC’s Sales and Travel Trade Manager. Prior to ITAC, she was part of the team at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on Tsuut’ina Nation in management and sales for seven years. 

Tamara is a proud Anishinaabe female originally from Keeseekoose First Nation of Treaty 4 Territory in Saskatchewan but now calls Tsuut’ina Nation of Treaty 7 Territory in Alberta her home. She has worked in the hospitality and tourism industry for much of her career journey and she is passionate about educating, sharing, and growing Indigenous tourism with the world. Tamara also holds a business management diploma from the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. 

“We are thrilled to see Tamara grow at ITAC and to witness another strong female leader become part of the Executive Management team,” said ITAC President and CEO Keith Henry. “She has brought and will continue to bring exceptional experience in Indigenous tourism to the association, and her leadership is essential for ITAC to move forward in its work to help make Canada the leader in Indigenous tourism by 2030.”

Littlelight will be responsible for overseeing the marketing initiatives of ITAC, which bring attention and resources to the country’s Indigenous-led tourism sector.
