Over 300 travel media in attendance, including top tier editors, freelance writers, and digital content creators
Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Vancouver, BC – The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) attended the virtual International Media Marketplace (IMM) North America Edition from January 27 to January 29, 2021, which included twenty-four one-on-one meetings with travel media representatives, including top tier editors, freelance writers and digital content creators.
ITAC’s Marketing Coordinator, Ryan Rogers, had a full appointment schedule with twenty-four pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings over the course of three days to discuss news, opening plans and pitch post-coronavirus stories. IMM offers unrivalled networking and relationship-building opportunities, and ITAC was honoured to be one of the over 200 exhibiting companies in attendance and have the opportunity to connect with some of the 300 top travel media representatives at the show. Rogers will be following up with journalists and reaching out to members with any potential leads.
It is extremely important to continue to raise the awareness of Indigenous experiences during these challenging times to remain top-of-mind for consumers and inspire future travel for when the time is right.
