Nominations are now open for Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada’s (ITAC) annual Indigenous Tourism Awards to be presented during the 10th annual International Indigenous Tourism Conference (IITC) on Thursday, March 9, 2023, hosted in Treaty 1 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis (Winnipeg, MB).
Each year, a highlight of the International Indigenous Tourism Conference (IITC) is the annual awards gala, where exceptional Indigenous leaders and Indigenous tourism experiences are recognized and celebrated. The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) and Indigenous Tourism Manitoba (ITM) will be recognizing Indigenous-owned tourism associations, businesses, entrepreneurs, and people from across Canada who have demonstrated exceptional work in leadership, partnership, development, marketing, and business ethic.
Nominees must be majority Indigenous-owned/controlled and provide tourism experiences or tourism-related services within Canada. Businesses are allowed to self-nominate.
ITAC National Awards include:
- Business Innovation Award
- Extraordinary Female Entrepreneur Award
- Leading the Way in Sustainability Award
- Exceptional Industry Leader and The Original Original Star Award
- Provincial or Territorial Association of the Year
Manitoba Awards include:
- New Operator or Business that Launched a New Experience
- Exceptional Cultural Experience Award
- Outstanding Staff Person Award
- Leading the Way in Business Development (Community-based)
