Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Vancouver, BC – The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) attended another successful International Media Marketplace (IMM) event in New York City (NYC) from January 21 – 22, 2026. This marked IMM’s 10th year in NYC and 14th globally to help build relationships and network — connecting the travel industry with North America’s top travel journalists, editors, influencers, broadcasters and content creators.
Ryan Rogers, ITAC’s award-winning Communications Manager, attended alongside 390 global brands, and met with approximately 525 top-tier media. Rogers had 24 pre-scheduled meetings with writers who contribute to outlets such as National Geographic, Travel + Leisure, and Condé Nast Traveler, to name just a few.
ITAC was pleased to participate in another IMM event and remains committed to proactive media relations and media familiarization tours—key efforts to keep Indigenous tourism experiences top of mind for travellers as they plan their journeys. With growing domestic and international demand for authentic Indigenous experiences, IMM continues to be a valuable opportunity for ITAC to strengthen media relationships and expand its reach in priority markets.
