The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) is dedicated to nurturing the growth and success of Indigenous tourism operators across Canada. Join the association in its mission to empower Indigenous tourism enterprises nationwide and work collectively towards ITAC’s vision to help make Canada the global leader in Indigenous tourism by 2030 through the Indigenous Tourism Fund Micro and Small Business Stream.
As you may be aware, ITAC has been diligently implementing the Indigenous Tourism Fund Micro and Small Business Stream (ITF-MSBS) from the Government of Canada.
At the outset, our federal partner allocated each province and territory a specific amount of funding, and ITAC was tasked with working in conjunction with the provincial and territorial Indigenous tourism organizations to distribute these funds. Funding was allocated on a first come, first served basis.
ITAC is happy to share the following eight provinces and territories have exceeded their allocated funding:
- British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, and Yukon Territory
Please be aware that unfunded applications may still be considered for funding at a future date and that funding may be reallocated should targets not be met in all provinces and territories. In the meantime, we are still encouraging businesses to consider and complete their The Original Original Accreditation Program applications.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this process. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Tara Saunders, ITAC Director of Business Development at Tara@IndigenousTourism.ca.
