As you may be aware, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new regulation in European Union (EU) law that came into effect on May 25, 2018. This new regulation extends to anyone collecting, storing and sharing personal data of residents in the EU.
We are in the process of implementing our GDPR Plan to address and comply with the GDPR’s requirements in connection with the use of personal data including consent to track and contact users of our online marketing sites, transparency about how we use their Personally Identifiable Information, data collection practices, security and accountability.
We want to ensure our members and partners understand the GDPR-readiness initiatives that are underway at ITAC and share the measures we are implementing to be GDPR compliant:
We have updated our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for both our Consumer and Corporate websites. We have also added a website banner notification that informs visitors that our websites use “Cookies” to track website interactions and what their rights are in accordance with these cookies.
These measures are in addition to other best practices we already had in place to ensure compliance around email consent.
Please contact us directly if you have any questions on how ITAC is complying with GDPR.
