Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Vancouver, BC – The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) has elected a new Executive Committee for their board of directors and is proud to announce the appointments of Marilyn Jensen as Chair, Brenda Holder as Vice-Chair, Kelly Fiddler as Treasurer and Jason Johnston as Secretary.

As per ITAC bylaws a new Executive Committee needed to be elected following the departure of Tara Saunders who took on the role of ITAC’s Director of Business Development.

A big thank you to the Executive Committee for their continued leadership. The future of Indigenous tourism in Canada looks strong and ITAC will remain leaders in the Indigenous tourism recovery thanks to the strong guidance from the board of directors. We are honoured to have such strong representation leading ITAC to build back better.

ITAC Board of Directors Announcement

ITAC is excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Germain to the ITAC Board of Directors, representing the Quebec region. Germain’s appointment is in accordance with ITAC bylaws and follows board member Marie-Pierre Laine departing temporarily on a maternity leave. Germain is the current Marketing Advisor for Indigenous Tourism Quebec and will be a valuable addition to the Board.

ITAC is also pleased to announce the appointment of Colleen Lambert to ITAC’s Board of Directors. In accordance with ITAC’s bylaws following the departure of Tara Saunders, Lambert will be the interim representative for Newfoundland and Labrador. Lambert is the Tourism, Culture & Recreation Manager for the Miawpukek First Nation and will bring valuable contributions and leadership to ITAC’s Board of Directors.
