Every year, a highlight of the IITC conference is our annual awards gala where we recognize the leaders and exceptional Indigenous tourism experiences from coast to coast to coast. This year, both the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) and Indigenous Tourism BC (ITBC) will be celebrating national and regional award winners on the evening of Thursday, November 14. The evening will also include a plated dinner and cultural performances.

Some of the national award categories include Most Improved Business, Most Inspiring Cultural Ambassador, Indigenous Adventure Awards. Regional awards include Remarkable Indoor Cultural Experiences, Remarkable Outdoor Cultural Experiences, Outstanding Indigenous Accommodations and more. Check out the website for more information about the 2019 IITC Awards Gala.

This year, close to 100 nominations were received, showcasing the growth in number and quality of Indigenous tourism experiences across the country.  Each year, nominees must be majority Indigenous-owned/controlled and provide tourism experiences or tourism-related services.
