*** IITC 2020 has been postponed – Read more here***
The International Indigenous Tourism Conference (IITC) is an annual conference bringing together people interested and invested in creating and contributing towards the Indigenous tourism industry.
Unfortunately, ITAC has made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s International Indigenous Tourism Conference that was going to be held from September 29-October 1, 2020 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
As the largest Indigenous tourism conference in the world, IITC is a long-anticipated and important gathering for everyone involved. We did not make the decision to postpone lightly, but in the end recognized that the health and welfare of our families, Elders, colleagues and communities must come first.
Although we are frustrated and saddened by the impact that Coronavirus has had on our entire industry, we are also determined. We know that once the pandemic has safely passed, our industry will emerge stronger than ever before. The momentum built up around 2020 IITC has shown that our collective voices are strong, our stories are waiting to be told, and our will to join together in community is unstoppable.
2021 Request For Proposal (RFP)
ITAC is currently seeking interest from potential organizations to co-host and support the management of the 2021 International Indigenous Tourism Conference (IITC). Any non-profit, profit, Indigenous or non-Indigenous organization or event planner is eligible to submit regardless of location or ownership from anywhere in Canada.
The IITC has been successfully built in partnership with ITAC for the past 8 years having been delivered in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. ITAC has continued to build the IITC registration delegate lists and is prepared to share information from the prior conference planning to the successful host organization interested in co-hosting the 2021 IITC.
The RFP form and submission must be received by the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada by April 30th, 2020 2:00 PM PST. Submissions must be sent via email to Keith@IndigenousTourism.ca.

2019 IITC
Last year, the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) was proud to host the 8th annual IITC in Syilx Territory at the Delta Hotels by Marriot Grand Okanagan Resort in Kelowna, British Columbia from November 12 to 14, 2019.
The 2019 IITC exceeded expectations with sold-out success and brought together Indigenous tourism operators from across Canada and around the world for three days of sharing best practices and networking. Delegates from across the globe participated in panel discussions, breakout sessions, keynote presentations and local cultural experiences.
