Wagmatcook Culture & Heritage Centre

Join us to celebrate the strength of our local community through our Mi’kmaw language, culture, and history. Gather for storytelling about the early ways of life from hunting and fishing to spirituality and ceremonies; see archived photographs about European contact and its effect on Aboriginal history; feast on ocean-fresh lobster at our Cleanwave restaurant. The Wagmatcook Culture and Heritage Centre opened in 2001 and has been striving to bring together the community and visitors to showcase and preserve the local language and history of the Mi'kmaw peoples. Some of the local businesses have partnered with us in our endeavour such as the Cleanwave Restaurant, the Wagmatcook Community Channel. and the Wagmatcook Fitness Centre.
