History runs deep here where traditional Blackfoot culture and the new generation of the Siksika Nation meet at the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. Take a guided tour in our eco-friendly Blackfoot Crossing museum; spend the night in a buffalo hide tipi, walk in the footsteps of 10,000 Blackfoot confederacy warriors where Treaty No. 7 was signed. The Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park offers interactive exhibits that showcase the culture, history, and rich traditions of the Blackfoot Peoples and the Siksika Nation as well as theatre performances and shows that captivate and teach. School programs and are offered that include Indigenous guided tours, where elders tell ancient stories and teach the classes about botany, the plants of the valley, and the history of the area. For a longer and more immersive experience, visit Chief Crowfoot's Tipi Village where local interpreters demonstrate traditional skills such as tanning, smoking, dances, and shelter building.
