The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada Congratulates New Federal Cabinet Members


November 21, 2019, Coast Salish Territory (Vancouver, BC) – Today, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his new cabinet for the next four years.

The Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) would like to congratulate Marc Miller who will be the new Minister of Indigenous Services, replacing the Honorable Seamus O’Regan.

“We’d like to thank the Honorable Seamus O’Regan for all his hard work,” says Keith Henry, president and CEO of ITAC. “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with him and wish him luck in his new role as Minister of Natural Resources.”

The Honorable Mélanie Joly will be taking on a new ministry ‘Economic Development and Official Languages’ which also includes the tourism portfolio. The Honorable Carolyn Bennett will remain as the Minister of Crown-Indigenous relations 

“We’d like to congratulate, and are excited to welcome and begin work with Canada’s new cabinet members who will be overseeing Indigenous portfolios,” says Henry. “We are grateful for our strong relationship with the Canadian government, and look forward to continuing this fruitful relationship we have worked so hard to build together.”
